This was a bit of a marathon getting from our Caravan Park in Rockdale, having to catch 3 trains. It took over 2 1/2 hours but once you get out of suburbia it was a lovely scenic and relaxing trip. We arrived at Bowral about 11am and after a bite to eat headed to The Museum which was about a 700 metre walk . Some lovely old houses along the way with colourful gardens.
The Cricketing Museum didn’t disappoint and was well worth the $20 entry fee.
The Tulip Festival was also on in town and whilst we didn’t go into the gardens due to the queue, we could see the colourful display from the footpath.
The museum isn’t just about “The Don”. It covers the history of cricket through all forms from Test to T20, includes women cricket and the story of how Kerry Packer changed the face of cricket with his made for television games.
