Bucket List # 89 See The Three Sisters Blue Mountains NSW

Although I had previously worked in Katoomba I had never before seen The Three Sisters. It was almost a 3 hour train trip from Rockdale but a relaxing and enjoyable trip. They run a loop bus from Katoomba to Echo Point lookout and also out to Scenic World.

The view from the lookout didn’t disappoint and as it was a bright sunny day it was absolutely packed with sightseer’s. After taking in the magnificent views we caught the bus to Scenic World to queue for over an hour to ride on the Scenic Skyway. It takes you across the canopy 270 metres below. Stunning views including those of the Katoomba Falls. We walked along to the falls before catching the bus back into town.

There were 2 other rides available, the Scenic Rail and the Scenic Cableway but time didn’t permit to do those as well.

After a walk around the shops in Katoomba we stopped at the Carrington Hotel. This would have been very opulent in its day and it still looks a grand old lady. The walls are adorned with beautiful paintings and the architecture is something from yesteryear.

It was getting close to dark when we left Katoomba so we were able to view the city lights on the way home. A great day out.
