Tongala is a neat and picturesque little town. I worked here for a brief time in the early ‘80’s so detoured to take a picture of the bank. The bank is long closed with only the Bendigo Community Bank now in town. Murals are dotted throughout the town on sides of buildings. The town is immaculately clean and it boasts as being “the friendly town”. From our few encounters with locals I can vouch that the catch cry is quite fitting.
