After departing Sydney we took the scenic route down Lawrence Hargreaves Drive and across the Sea Bridge through Coalcliff to Wollongong. Claire took a great video of us driving along the sea bridge but I can’t post it here as I am getting low on available “space” and the next step up on this website would set me back triple what I pay now.
After spending a couple of hours in Kiama we stopped a few days near Bomaderry with friends. We caught the train back up to Sydney as Claire had an early morning flight back to Perth and I caught the train back to pick up Rhonda. After leaving our friends place I headed down to Milton where I had Rhonda booked in for a service the next day (Friday). I got a lift into Ulladulla and filled in the morning wandering around in the rain before catching the town bus back through Mollymook to Milton.
Gotta love country business’s and their inbuilt trust. Just after lunch guy rang me to say bus was ready. Walked back around to the industrial area to be told the boss was out. He couldn’t operate the computer so he said write down your email and we will send you the bill. Got the bill the following Tuesday and all good.
After a night with friends south of Ulladulla it was on to Batemans Bay. The friends south of Ulladulla were a couple I had met when I was at Daly River 3 years ago. One thing I have loved about this trip is the new friends I have made. Some are just hello goodbye types but others you really click with and keep in contact with.
I called into Hyams Beach (see seperate blog) and then spent the weekend at Batemans Bay. Unfortunately it bucketed down rain all weekend (Bathurst weekend) so I rang the Catalina Country club snd was able to stay there a couple of nights so was able to keep dry inside the club and watch car races on the very big screen.
Further south I stopped a couple of nights near Moruya, Bodalla, 3 nights at Bermagui and a couple at Bega, Merimbula and finally 2 nights near Eden before crossing the border into Victoria. All the above places are tourist towns and all very picturesque. In between I went into smaller villages and towns.
For almost all my time on the south coast of NSW it was wet wet wet. There were patches of good weather but very limited. Would like to come back here at a different time of year but definitely not during school holiday time.
