I’d been to Streaky Bay once back in 1981. I’m lucky enough to have a cousin who has a holiday home there so I was able to park up in their backyard for a week with access to the house for showers and toilet.
If I was asked to describe Streaky Bay in four words I would say “I could live here”. Although very much a tourist town it had a sleepy relaxed feel to it. It is very pretty on the edge of the bay. Streets are impeccably clean and the houses, most of which are old style, are all neat and tidy. Many are holiday lets.
I ended up staying a week in Streaky Bay. Filled my days with long walks around the bay or into town and along the jetty. People were friendly and it appeared to have good services including two supermarkets.
Streaky Bay has a very good museum which is jam packed with local history. It’s a very relaxing and laid back sort of sleepy village which I am sure gets very crowded in the school holidays.
There are several good drives around the area and I did the coastal drive out to Back Beach and then the loop back into town. Blow holes and board walks are all worth the time to venture down to the sea along the cliffs.

I agree with you Ray, Streaky is a great spot
