Bucket List #20 Visit 1770 Qld

Visit Town of 1770 (BL92)

Everyone raves about this place and I can well see why. The twin towns of 1770 and Agnes Water are about 7km apart and separated by resorts and holiday accommodation as well as holiday homes and owner occupied housing. There is a good lookout and walk on the headland at 1770 and a caravan park situated on the river inlet. I ended up staying at the Workman Beach Camp Ground which was about 1km south of Agnes Water. Agnes Water has the shopping precinct for the area and all the infrastructure of a town. The campground was very well laid with bush type camping areas and a toilet and outside cold shower. It has a very nice beach that is void of stingers so a daily swim was not only possible but most enjoyable. I stayed a week here ($9.60pppn) and it is now my favourite place on my trip so far.

It was just so relaxing here and I chilled out easily here. Definitely on my list of places to return to.

  1. It is a nice spot. I wanted to buy a block of land there but the bank wouldn’t lend me any money so ended up at the Gold Coast.

    1. Sue I was surprised at how cheap some of the houses/blocks were. You can still get a shack for under $200,000
