After leaving Inverloch I headed back north of Melbourne to catch up with a coaster friend at Dartmouth up in the High Country. We spent a few days camped by the river in the Mitta Mitta area.
The drive through the valleys southeast of Wodonga was lovely with the trees changing colour with the season. It’s certainly rugged country the further you head into the mountains.
Being camped in the bush, off grid was relaxing . The first couple of days were warm and with little wind. Then the weather turned and a bitterly cold day with storms and rain on the nearby peaks. The morning I left and headed back over the mountains along the Omeo Highway there was debris everywhere. Leaves, twigs, branches and even the odd limb littered the road. It was a slow trip. Just as I was headed across the ridge about 50km out of Omeo my clutch went. That slowed me down as I remained in 3rd gear until I could get to a mechanics in Omeo. Kudos to Oz County Mechanical who did a temporary fix to get me on my way.
