Coming down the west coast of Western Australia I made the detour inland from Geraldton to see the wild flowers which I had been told by a mate “were the best in 25 to 30 years”.
The wild flowers actually started just south of Carnarvon and were quite prolific for nearly 100 km. 10km out of Pindar was the best place for the famous but elusive wreath flowers. They were absolutely amazing.
I would certainly recommend anyone heading to Western Australia to time their trip to take in the wildflower “season” through the wheatbelt between August and October.
