Crossing from one state to the next in Australia is pretty straightforward but being in 3 different states in the one day is only possible in a few places by vehicle.
I was headed from NSW to South Australia and did intend driving up the Silver City Highway to Broken Hill to enter South Australia to avoid going into Victoria but decided as it was only 150km through to Renmark in SA I would go the short way. With Covid, border passes are needed to enter each state so I applied for these online and the process was pretty straightforward.
I left NSW at Buronga to drive into Victoria and through Mildura, I chose not to stop along the way through Victoria as I will return to Victoria towards the end of this year and see all the places along the Murray and beyond.
